Aleena Oakley is a Johnson C. Smith alumna born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. She recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in International Business. Aleena has a passion for environmental sustainability and global operations. Her interest in environmental sustainability began after enrolling in Principles of Sustainability and gaining knowledge and an understanding of our impact on the world.

Aleena was a part of the Operations Possible University inaugural class in SUS 230 with Dr. Dugo. During her enrollment, she learned about the importance of sustainability and how we interact and live on Earth has an impact on our environment and planet. She also got to assist with solutions to help initiate a recycling program to combat plastic waste on campus. Aleena will be working as a sustainability fellow at Johnson C. Smith, focusing on combating plastic waste on campus, clean energy accounting, carbon footprinting, and data reporting for the Sustainability Village greenhouse.
